Aircraft Nitrogen Charging Cart

The Aircraft Nitrogen Charging Cart is a versatile and mobile ground support system designed to service aircraft nitrogen systems including tires, shock struts, accumulators, and other pressurized components. Developed by Hydraulics International, Inc. (HII), this equipment is engineered for safe, efficient, and accurate nitrogen servicing operations for commercial, military, and general aviation aircraft.

The unit is configured to hold multiple high-pressure nitrogen bottles (typically 6), securely mounted within a rugged steel frame with high-strength retention clamps. The system is designed to provide both high-pressure (up to 5000 PSI) and low-pressure (0–400 PSI) outputs with precise regulation through onboard air-driven boosters and control panels.

A key advantage of the cart is its self-boosting capability using a built-in air-driven gas booster, which enables the full use of the nitrogen supply even when the bottle pressure drops below 300 PSI. This ensures uninterrupted servicing and optimal use of the gas without requiring external high-pressure sources.

The nitrogen charging cart is fitted with dual regulators, high-pressure gauges, quick-disconnect service hoses, and a control manifold to allow simultaneous or sequential servicing of multiple aircraft components. The system includes pressure relief valves for safety, caster wheels for mobility, and tow bars for easy transport across hangars or ramps.

Built to withstand rugged use in both airfield and maintenance hangar environments, the Aircraft Nitrogen Charging Cart ensures operator safety, equipment durability, and efficient servicing workflow. It is compliant with major aviation maintenance standards and is available in custom configurations to suit specific operational needs.

Applications:

  • Aircraft Tire Inflation – Delivers dry nitrogen for safe, stable tire pressure

  • Landing Gear Strut Servicing – Charges nitrogen into oleo-pneumatic shock absorbers

  • Accumulator Charging – Supplies high-pressure nitrogen to hydraulic accumulators

  • Nitrogen Purging Operations – Used in systems requiring dry, inert environments

  • Flight Line & Hangar Support – Mobile servicing cart for routine and AOG operations
